It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to make any unauthorized connection, whether physically, acoustically, inductably, or otherwise, with any part of a grantee’s cable system or facilities, for the purpose of enabling the reception of any television, radio, picture, program, sound, or data signals, or other services, without payment to and authorization from the grantee, except that subscribers shall have the right to attach devices to the grantee’s cable system to allow them to transmit signals or services for which they have paid to VCRs, television sets, or other terminal devices; and subscribers shall have the right to use their own remote control devices, converters, and other similar equipment, and the grantee shall provide information to subscribers which will allow them to adjust such devices so that they may be used with the grantee’s cable system. It shall also be unlawful for any person, without the consent of the grantee, to willfully tamper with, remove, or injure any cables, wires, or equipment of the grantee used for the distribution of television, radio, picture, program, sound, or data signals, or other services, unless the grantee fails to remove such devices from the property of such person if he the person if the person chooses not to take service, or if the grantee places such devices on any property where it has no right to place such devices. The grantee shall not, as a condition to providing service, require a subscriber or potential subscriber to remove or disconnect any existing antenna, except at the express direction of the subscriber or potential subscriber, or prohibit or discourage a subscriber from installing an antenna switch, provided such equipment and installations are consistent with applicable codes.
