An application for a new franchise or for a renewal franchise must be filed with the City Clerk. New franchises and renewal franchises that are not subject to the formal renewal provisions of the Cable Act, 47 U.S.C. § 546 (a)–(g) shall be reviewed as provided in subsection 12-6.1. Applicants that submit proposals subject to the formal renewal provisions of the Cable Act shall be reviewed as provided in subsection 12-6.2. (Ord. #80-97, S5)
