The Director of Planning and Community Development shall have the following powers and duties:

a. To provide staff assistance to the Commission and serve as its secretary or designate a member of his staff to serve as secretary to the Commission. Before the appointment of the first Director or subsequently if necessary, the Commission shall designate one of its own members to act as Secretary.

b. To provide staff assistance to the Manager and Council.

c. To make surveys, gather data, prepare reports, maps, charts and graphic presentations pursuant to the preparation, presentation, adoption and revision of a general plan.

d. To enforce the planning and zoning laws of the State of California and ordinances of the City.

e. To conduct the City’s environmental review process in accordance with the State Environmental Quality Act.

f. To manage and/or coordinate all City matters concerning housing and commercial buildings. (Ord. #7, S9; Ord. #2012-153)
