This Traffic/Parking Ordinance is adopted pursuant to Division 11, Chapter 10, Article 1 of the California Vehicle Code, beginning with Section 22650 through Section 22856. California Vehicle Code Section 22651 outlines circumstances permitting removal of vehicles by Peace Officers and certain other City employees. Section 22651(k) of the California Vehicle Code allows for the removal of vehicles “When any vehicle is parked or left standing upon a highway for 72 or more consecutive hours in violation of a local ordinance authorizing removal”. This Ordinance establishes authority to remove vehicles. (Ord. #76-96, S1)
